Instagram is one of the fastest growing social media apps. It has always been a useful thing when it comes to spreading positivity.
One of the many inspirational stories is about Kali Kushner. The 22-year-old suffered acne since she was a teenager. The woman admits that she tried doing everything to overcome acne, but all was in vain.
Her dermatologist came up with an amazing course of six-months of Accutane (medication designed to combat acne) and she started to notice the change.
Following are few images:
Kali thought to make an Instagram account to share her inspirational story with the world. She made the account @myfacestory and now after almost two years she has more than 22,000 followers. Now that’s big!
She wanted the world to know her story and her recovery images went viral on the social media world. Her images are the most popular #acne hashtag ever.
Sharing her story with Cosmopolitan she said: “I honestly didn’t start the account with any idea or goal of getting noticed. I was just trying to keep track of my progress as I went through my six-month prescription of Accutane.”
“I used to think it was odd, because I really didn’t do anything magical—I just took Accutane and a bunch of selfies, but now I realize that the reason people are so dedicated to following my story is because nobody actually posts stuff like this. Acne is so hush-hush and shamed in society, and having clear skin is the epitome of beauty, so if you dare have a spot or a breakout—and if you dare to take a picture of it—it’s almost like something’s wrong with you, which is so false.” she added.
Well, Taking Accutane is not easy. Kali said that there are side effects of aches and dryness but she is no longer on the drug. Its been a year that she is off the medication. She is still posting the before and after pictures of her journey to spread positivity and awareness.
